Configurable Dashboard
This project was one of the first major projects I participated in and build from scratch. That’s why this is one of most meanigul project. Also It has since become a key selling point for Roivenue.
I worked closely with product manager and build feature from scratch, business analysis, low-fi, user research and to the final touches and even retouches.
“
Designed personalized dashboards that offer granular, data-driven views to enhance teamwork and collaboration. Insights are visualized across countries, platforms, and channels, streamlining decision-making and enabling smarter strategies across teams.
”
Problem
The existing dashboards lacked flexibility, making it difficult for users to customize views to their needs. The main issue was that users couldn’t fully utilize the dashboard. To customize their dashboards, they had to download data from Roivenue and import it into separate analytics software, which was inconvenient and led to decreased user retention.
Feedback from clients revealed challenges: too general or overly detailed metrics, limited chart options, and a lack of useful dimensions. Additionally, target personas were unclear, complicating efforts to design for specific user needs.
Progress
After defining the problem, the PM and I began with conceptual mapping to pinpoint the exact features our users needed. Our focus was on achieving flexibility—enabling users to build their own dashboards within Roivenue itself, removing the need to switch back and forth between programs. Our primary goal was to create an intuitive, user-friendly dashboard.
Next, we developed the user flow, followed by sketches to visualize how the dashboard should look and feel. I then created low-fidelity prototypes, which we tested through user research to validate and refine the design further.
User Research
Through feedback from existing and churned clients as well as sales calls with prospective users, we identified the primary issues with the dashboard experience. During research, we went through our prototype together and asked them questions regarding our approaches and way to customize dashboard. Users expressed a need for a streamlined, customizable interface that would allow them to save preferred configurations and quickly access relevant data.
Low fiderlity Prototype
The Approach
Here was what we focused on and results from the researches for each approach.
Saving Time
Implemented shortcuts like bookmarked configurations and customizable dashboards, enabling users to save their preferred views and reduce repetitive setup tasks. Users said it is exactly what they expected and seemed easy to use.
Features
- Bookmark
- Save dashboard
Customisation
Provided users the ability to create and modify reports, allowing them to tailor dashboards to the specific needs of their teams and stakeholders.
User reacted that this is the best feature because they don’t need to use 3rd party tool and can create their own dashboard.
Features
- Configure Dashboard
- Move, Resize, Edit, Delete
Mobile Optimization
While most users relied on desktops, we explored a mobile-friendly version to improve accessibility for quick data checks or notifications on the go.
Outcome
The new dashboards streamlined decision-making for marketers by allowing customized views across platforms, countries, and channels. User testing confirmed increased satisfaction with the configurability and accessibility of the dashboards, supporting smarter teamwork and more effective data-driven decisions.
Furthermore
There is additional features implemented later.
- Widget information Dialogue : to show filtered information, measure, date and attribution information.
- Multiple Dashboard and Share : User can create multiple dashboards and share to the roivenue user.
